Jetwash Footbath

After infertility and mastitis, lameness is the  third most common reason for culling cows on dairy farms. In the average dairy herd 16 out of every 100 cows is affected by lameness per year. Lameness has both direct and indirect costs and together these are estimated to total approximately £170 per case. This costs the average 100-cow dairy herd almost £4000 per year.

The Cowcare Jetwash Footbath consists of a Single folded sheet of 416L Stainless steel through which we pump the footbath solution from jets positioned both front and back.  This allows the liquid the cleanse and penetrate the entire hoof, greatly reducing the presence of Bacterial infections between the cleats, around the dew claws & the area above the interdigital space.

The Footbath has an internal resevoir which holds around 40 litres and can be replenished via a gravity or pumped resevoir.  This helps to ensure that the chemical strength remains consistant throughout the process. Any solid particles are removed quickly and efficiently via our motorised cleaning system.
